The beloved holiday classic is back to make our lives even more wonderful than we originally once thought it it was.

Star Partners and Hummingbird Productions have announced that they're working on a sequel for the beloved holiday classic, It's A Wonderful Life. It was reported by Variety that the title for the sequel will be appropriately named, It's A Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story.

This time we follow the story of Bailey’s grandson, who is also named George Bailey as he is shown “how much better off the world would have been had he never been born.” Which in a sense sounds kind of depressing, but this being a sequel, it will be far from that. Karolyn Grimes will return for her original role as Bailey’s daughter “Zuzu”, this time as an angel guiding Bailey’s grandson.

As of right now there are no ties to any cast or director aside from Grimes.

Grimes had this to say.

“The new film will retain the feeling of the original, and it simply must be shared,” Grimes said. “I’ve probably read close to 20 scripts over the years suggesting a sequel to ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ but none of them were any good. The script by Bob Farnsworth and Martha Bolton was wonderful, and I wanted to be involved with his version of the film immediately.”

Production is expected to take place next year in Louisiana for a release during the 2015 holiday season.
