With Dreams of Forever Evil 6 once more crushed until next week, I look onwards to this new week, where things are getting awesome. I am a huge fan of what DC has been putting out, and my load of comics for this week is quite heavy! With so many fresh takes on solid characters, and new budding classics, I am super stoked to talk about this week's books!
#3
Title: Superman: Lois Lane #1
Price: $4.99
Writer: Marguerite Bennett
Artist: Dan Jurgens
Story/Premise
Lois Lane is known for chasing down stories - but what happens when the
story is her family? As her father gains more power in the government,
Lois's sister Lucy has become involved with a deadly drug scene!
Meanwhile, Lois thought she was rid of the influence of Brainiac, but
now she finds that the the computer tyrant of Colu is calling out to her
again!
Opinion
Lois Lane, a woman known for bangin Supes on and off again throughout DC's canon and getting in people's faces to get her stories out there finally gets her own book. . . again. A strong independent woman who don't need no (Super)man, she is truly one of the most iconic female characters in comics next to Catwoman, Mary Jane Watson and Sue Storm. All were pioneers in the progressive minded woman's world of comics and though this may be a cash grab for another new #1 in their hat, it looks and sounds different enough from the status quo of The New 52 to have me interested.
#2
Title: Batman/Superman #8
Price: $3.99
Writer: Greg Pak
Artist: Kenneth Rocafort
Story/Premise
The Worlds' Finest teams of two worlds meet at last in chapter 1 of
'First Contact'! With Power Girl's abilities on the fritz, see what
happens when her long-lost cousin Superman approaches her! And a major
threat returns in a way you won't believe! Continues in this month's
WORLDS' FINEST #8.
Opinion
Earth 2 and all of it's side series have been nothing short of amazing. The first arc of this series demonstrated that yet again, and though the last Mongul-centric arc took a dip, this one looks to step it up once more. Finally we get to see what happens when both Bruce and Clark are faced with their alternate universe relatives. We can assume it will go well since they have already visited themselves on that planet, but with hints at ties to the current arc of Earth 2, let's just say I am little more than moist, mentally, over this next arc.

Title: The Wake #6
Price: $2.99
Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Sean Murphy
Story/Premise
'My name is Leeward, and this is where my story begins...' Our story
jumps two hundred years into a flooded future where nothing is the same.
The second half of THE WAKE starts here!
Opinion
WAIT, THAT'S A VERTIGO BO- I know. Honestly they are owned by the same men in suits sitting at a table somewhere and counting your lunch money so I don't see the point in pretending that Vertigo is an entirely isolated publisher from DC. This book has been crazy awesome thus far, a true breath of fresh air in my hero filled pull list and with the ending of issue 5 and the promise of what this second half of the story holds I believe we are all in for one hell of a ride. Mutants? Check. Killer Mermaids? Still check. BATTLE DOLPHINS?! You bet your ass. If you are looking for well penned horror story with splashes of Sci-Fi and haunting art, look no further.
Notables:
Talon #16
