Oh my goodness I am absolutely terrible at balancing my time aren't I!? Insanely sorry for my lack of posts and I'm sorry as well for missing this past week's Movie News Overview videocast. I'm going to be posting a lot more starting this weekend so be on the look out for some more posts I have planned! This week in Marvel we aren't getting to heavy of a load but we are getting some AWESOME books out that's for sure. I had an incredibly hard time picking which book should be at #3 so be sure you check out the Notable's section this week because every book mentioned in this list deserves to be read (in my humble opinion that is!) Anyway, enough jibber jabber from me, let's see the top 3 Marvel Comics out this week!!
#3
Title: Magneto #001
Price: $3.99
Writer: Cullen Bunn
Artist: Gabriel Hernandez Walta
Story/Premise
Once the deadliest, most feared mutant mastermind on the planet, MAGNETO is no longer the man he once was. After falling in with Cyclops and the X-Men, Erik Lehnsherr became just one more pawn in another man’s war. But now, determined to fight the war for mutantkind’s survival on his own terms, Magneto sets out to regain what he’s lost…and show the world exactly why it should tremble at the sound of his name. Magneto will safeguard the future of the mutant race by hunting down each and every threat that would see his kind extinguished—and bloody his hands that they may never be a threat again.
Opinion
This book just based off of the description sounds really intense. I like the direction that it sounds like they'll be going in but at the same time I kind of have get a mercenary vibe from the sounds of this book. Magneto is a bad ass. We all know that Magneto is a bad ass, so I am sure that this book is going to portray him as a bad ass. The only thing that worries me, as I mentioned above is the whole "mercenary" feel that they're giving this book. With the recent arc in Deadpool, and then Loki: Agent of Asgard, I don't know how many mercenaries Marvel fans can take!
#2
Title: Loki: Agent of Asgard #002
Price: $2.99
Writer: Al Ewing
Artist: Lee Garbett
Story/Premise
Loki vs. Lorelei! It's the battle of the Asgardian younger siblings - from the casinos of Monte Carlo to a speed date in New York!Loki goes speed dating. We should have mentioned that earlier, really.
Opinion
I absolutely loved the first issue of this title by Al Ewing. I felt like it was easily one of the best books that Marvel put out in a long time, but unfortunately was over shadowed by "Ms. Marvel #001" that came out the same week. Which it really shouldn't have been. This book runs circles around a lot of the current titles Marvel has going even if it is just a mini series. I really hope that the great writing from issue #001 and fun story carry over to this issue and onward!
#1
Title: Moon Knight #001
Price: $3.99
Writer: Warren Ellis
Artist: Declan Shalvey
Story/Premise
Marc Spector is Moon Knight!...Or is he? It's hard to tell these days, especially when New York's wildest vigilante protects the street with two-fisted justice and three—that's right, count ‘em—different personalities! But even with the mystical force of Khonshu fueling his crusade, how does the night's greatest detective save a city that's as twisted as he is? The road to victory is going to hurt. A lot. Marvel's most mind-bending adventure begins NOW as Moon Knight sleuths his way to the rotten core of New York's most bizarre mysteries!
Opinion
Alright.. Alright.. Everyone just calm down! I know we are all extremely excited for the return of Moon Knight! And why shouldn't we be!? I've heard nothing but great things about this book and think that anyone who likes a whole lot of bad assery should check it out! I know that I'm really hyped up for this book and can't wait to check it out!
