Taking Back Sunday: Happiness Is

For The Fan Presents:

Taking Back Sunday “Happiness Is” (2014) Review

I was in high school (I know that dates me), when I first was introduced to Taking Back Sunday. I hated them. I was really into hardcore, and they didn’t offer the hardcore leanings that I was into at the time, and despite my protest, their first album grew on me. I was hooked with the choruses that would just not stop, and soon I was singing along in their emo drenched rock fusion of alternative guitars and whining….I mean singing. When they hit the ground running, they had a string of hits and a ton of tours opening up for much heavier bands. The scene was hot in Southern California, and when they came through with Thursday, I was there rocking out.

Yesterday, the Tumblr page for Jem and The Holograms released a first look at who our cast is going to be.

Director Jon M. Chu may has found his calling. With previous films such as Justin Beiber: Never Say Never, the Step Up films, and GI Joe: Realtion. This film may be just what he needs. Another pop-star 80's remake that allows him to show off his dancing skills.

Jem and The Holograms will star Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Hayley Kiyoko, and Aurora Perrineua. Actresses whom I have never heard of, but by the looks of it they fit the bill just right.

According to the film's official announcement, this version of Jem will be "for a whole new generation with themes of being true to who you are in a multitasking, hyperlinked social media age."

So, be sure to see advertisements for Apple, Windows, Microsoft, and whatever else plastered all over this film.

Who knows what will come of this, but maybe we will have another Josie and The Pussycats on our hands. Which isn't necessarily a good thing. Although, it can be.

Emmure: Eternal Enemies

Emmure: Eternal Enemies

For The Fan Presents:

Emmure “Eternal Enemies” (2014) Review

There are a lot of hardcore and metalcore acts that are touring the country right now, and one of them hit the road with contemporaries on the “Mosh Lives Tour”. I went to see it go down, and realized that I’m too old for it. Plus, I didn’t have a camera, no smartphone, nothing, so my experience was definitely one of pure sight and sound. The headlining act was none other than controversial metalcore 5-piece Emmure and they tour the house apart with extreme force of sound. Victory Records has been counting down the days of this release and it finally hit the stores and the pre-orders shipped. The release of “Eternal Enemies” not only presents one of the heaviest chapters in the band’s history, it very well could be the best produced metalcore, deathcore buffet you’re going to listen to this year.

Don't tell me you didn't see this coming?

Director Michael Bay stated to Entertainment Weekly that we should expect two more movies after Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Bay states, “Yeah, it’s the first of a new trilogy. I’m not necessarily sure that I’m doing [the others], but that’s what it’s meant for.”
Is this a good thing or bad thing? Who knows, but one thing for sure is that we should all expect more explosions and hopefully more Dinobots.

And maybe, emphasis on maybe, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will make an appearance. That's just going out on a limb, but you can never overlook an angle when it comes to Michael Bay.

Below are some brand new photos. Check them out.

Reeve Oliver: Touchtone Inferno

Reeve Oliver: Touchtone Inferno

For The Fan Presents:

Reeve Oliver “Touchstone Inferno” (2007) Review

Dogwood was a Christian punk rock band that seemed to be hitting their stride in the 2000’s, and that may not make a lot of sense to most music fans out there, especially if you weren’t keen on Tooth and Nail’s mad dash to sign any act that had a regional following in this scene. Well, Dogwood had a guitar player named Sean O’Donnell and he went on to create a band called Reeve Oliver. This band is one of the best pop punk rock acts that you probably didn’t hear about, and it’s sad.
