After many rumors and much speculation Star Trek 3 has found it's director.
Variety just reported that Sky Dance and Paramount have grabbed and confirmed Robert Orci as director for Star Trek 3, the third installment for the new Star Trek trilogy.
Orci is currently writing the story with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. With Abrams being too busy with directing the next installment of the “Star Wars”, Orci has been at the top the of the list to replace Abrams.
As of right now, details for the plot are unknown but the cast, which includes Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, are expected to return.
J.J. Abrams will also be returning as a producer along with his partner Bryan Burke and Skydance’s David Ellison.
