Thunderbolts #018 was the ending to yet another Infinity tie-in book and though the writing for this has been lacking, this arc has been a very fun read and I am actually sad that it is ending. In this issue we see the Nobili gangsters in their Inhuman transformation killing the other Mobsters, Punisher, Agent Venom, and Elecktra killing some mobsters, and Deadpool eating pizza! What more could someone want out of a book?

Story Summary(some spoilers)

The book starts off directly after Thunderbolts #017 and the Nobili family has been turned into Inhumans from the Terragensis mist. Joseph Nobili, one of the brothers, is finally able to create his art/paintings exactly as they were in his head. As he finally finds happiness one of the mobsters shots him through the head thinking that he is one of the aliens. His father, who always now has inhuman powers, is devastated at the death of his son and attacks the mobsters killing the group that was attacking them. After killing the mobsters, his other son, commits suicide by putting a gun to his head because he feels like no girl is going to like him due to his new form. From there, we see the Thunderbolts standing in the warehouse where the mobsters have been hiding out. Punisher is lead to believe that the Nobili family escaped the wreckage but it is then reviled that Agent Venom (Flash Thompson) stuck them with a part of his symbiote and will be able to track them down. Red Hulk (Thaddeus Ross) is busy detracting a villain named "Mercy" who believes that the humans want her to kill them. Ross is able to convince Mercy to kill the alien ships instead of the humans in return for a deal that they had made. Meanwhile, Deadpool is busy eating pizza at the restaurant he had been hunting down through this entire story arc. While eating pizza three mobsters walk in. Deadpool recognizes the mobsters, and kills them as if nothing happened. The team them re-unites and are now off to a special location to "re-charge" Red Leaders brain.

Review of the Book

The writing through this story arc has been really fun and really entertaining. This issue is as well very entertaining, but was not as strong as the other Infinity tie-in issues. I think that this is mostly because there wasn't really anywhere else to go with the story since it had all been set up in the previous issues. For an ending this book was pretty good and was fun to read. The art of this arc has been something I cannot stand. Everyone is basically a square person and it just does not work for this type of book. I wish that someone whose style matches the Infinity would have done this book, but beggars can't be choosers, as they say.

Pros, Cons, and Rating

Pros: Deadpool, good writing, fun end to the arc, and good setup for the next few issues
Cons: The Art.

Rating: 8/10. This issue is a good wrap up to the arc and is a fun read, especially if you've been following this series.
