First Look: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin

Sony just released this picture that gives a closer look at Harry Osborn aka Green Goblin.

Since the first release of Marc Webb's depiction of the villain fans everywhere have given the design negative reaction. Some of which were accurate and quite hilarious. One of the funnier things we heard was the comparison to Leonardo's character in What's Eating Gilbert Grape... And the rest was just natural slander you expect to hear from fans.

Well, check out the photo below and let us know what you think!

I still don't particularly like the design, but I don't hate it. I can't say much until I see the performance because to me The Goblin is more terrifying as a character than in any visual depiction.

Peter Parker continues to struggle with balancing his life as a high school student and his responsibilities as Spider-Man. When Peter begins to investigate more about his father's past, thanks to the help of his friend Harry Osborn, he begins to realize that the new threats of Electro and the Rhino all have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings in theaters May 2, 2014.

After the release of Phatasm 4: Oblivion in 1998 the horror community had been eagerly waiting to see the continuing adventures of the Phantasm series.

For years there have been very shaky and uncertain rumors of what was to be of the series. We've also had the speculation of a new movie for over a decade. The hype around all this has been an endless cycle.

Franchise creator/director Don Coscarelli has kept all news under wraps about the future of Phantasm, and that future has swimming in shallow waters since the moment the credits rolled on Phantasm 4 and we were left with a cliffhanger.

If you don't remember please watch the film or do the not as cool thing and Wikipedia the ending.

As of today all speculation and rumors have become reality.

Today this poster was revealed. Courtesy of Aint It Cool News, and they say that they have 100% confirmed that this is all real and not in any way fan made. The downside is that this is all we get. No details to the plot or a release date have been said, but Ain't It Cool also said we may see it sooner than we think. And that statement can be taken however you'd like it, but all it does for me is add excitement on type of excitement.

The original draft for the fifth installment was set in a desolate future and centered on hi-tech troops attempting to put an end to the Tall Man once and for all. A theory that could work, but we can't say for sure.

We will do our best to keep updated on any further news.

Right now all we ask of you is to bask in the beauty of this glorious news.

Throwdown: Intolerance

For The Fan Presents:

Throwdown “Intolerance” (2014) Review

In the past Throwdown were darlings of straightedge hardcore with metallic riffs. However, around the time Eighteen Visions and other bands on the Trustkill Records label started getting famous, they altered their style to be more “commercial” friendly. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean they got a lot of radio play, but the sound was less militant, and more strategic in the hardcore bounty that they were trying to get a shot at. If you heard one Hatebreed record, for instance, than you know what the shift in sound was likened to. For years, I didn’t like the releases, and out of the blue, they come out with a record that returns to form and still rocks heavy, with “Intolerance”.

Sequel For 'The Incredibles' Is On Its Way

Disney/Pixar (News)

During a shareholders conference call Tuesday morning, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that plans are currently in the works for The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3.

Yesterday it was announced that The Incredibles would be re-released in 3D. Speculation now suggests that the sequel would and probably should be released around the same time of The Incredibles 3D re-release. This has happened before with Toy Story and Toy Story 3. I can't say when we will be seeing the sequel, but I will say this: "There is HOPE!"

Then hope is lost.

Along with The Incredibles sequel there will also be a third installment for Cars. Yes, because we haven't had enough of those talking automobiles. Lets hope this next film isn't as bad as the atrocity we call Cars 2. Okay, maybe that was a bit harsh, but you have to admit Cars 2 was pretty bad.

Within the next few years we should be expecting a barrage of Pixar films. The releases begin with Inside Out in June 2015, The Good Dinosaur in November 2015, and, as of right now ends with the Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory in June 2016. They also have slotted films for June 2017, November 2017, and June 2018. Of course those projects have yet to be revealed. They could very well be for Cars or Incredibles 2... or nothing at all and they're just open spots for movies they haven't thought of yet. We'll have to wait and see.

But does all this correspond with their new schedule? Which states that they release an original story every year and a sequel every other year. With that said we may not see The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3 until 2018 or 2020.

Like I said eariler, "There is HOPE!" Whatever the release dates may be it is indefinite that we will see them eventually.

Saving Grace “The Urgency” (2014) Review

Artist: Saving Grace

Album: “The Urgency”

Release: 2014

Genre: Metal/Hardcore

Facedown Records has released some of the most iconic records from the world of metal, hardcore and punk. I’ve been a fan since I was a teenager, and even booked some shows with their bands back in 2001 – 2003. The label has gone through transitional stages, with some bands not hitting me as hard, and then they picked up the pace and started signing some incredible bands and putting out albums that completely change the way I’ve viewed their roster. One such signing is that of Saving Grace. The previous releases rocked, but nothing compares to this latest record from the band.

DC Comics: Comic Book Buy List-Week of March 12th 2014

Follow Us On Twitter
@ForTheFanBlog

It's another week and that means it is time for more comics! This week has a lot going for it and you will have to see it to believe it! Also I may or may not have a few bets about some of these I need to settle. Lesson of the day kids: Never gamble your knees on the plot line of an Aquaman book!

#3
 Title: Batman and Robin #29
Price: $2.99
Writer: Peter J. Tomasi
Artist: Mick Gray and Patrick Gleason

Story/Premise
Batman is ready to settle the score with Ra’s al Ghul, who stole Robin’s body out of the grave! As the Dark Knight travels to the island where Damian was born, he’s set on a collision course with Aquaman!

Opinion
Ok so if somebody hasn't ruined it in the last year and a half, Damian Wayne is dead. . . dead, Dead, DEAD!!!!!! If that hasn't been established by now, you just got a bucket of "That's Life!" thrown in your face by your dear Uncle Dan.  What I am not quite sure of is how long we are going to run this into the ground?! We know Bruce is upset, hell, internet and physically walled off North Koreans know.  The fact that Grandpa Demon's head just dug him up and said, "IT'S TIME NOW!" doesn't speak levels about this to me, as this thought was already pursued and abandoned by Batman. So after all that why is it #3?  Shit, it's got Aquaman, what else do you want from me?

#2

Title: Wonder Woman #29
Price: $2.99
Writer: Brian Azzarello
Artist:  Cliff Chiang

Story/Premise
If the helmet fits…then it’s time to play God!

Opinion
What a weak ass teaser.  We have known this moment was coming since Ares fell, now we get to see it played out in ultimate fashion.  Wonder Woman kicking ass and claiming godhood? You only expected half of that if you started this arc at the beginning of the new 52, and with their conservative storytelling and balls to the walls action, the creative team has delivered on both those grounds.  This issue is not to be missed.

#1

Title: Superman Unchained #6
Price: $3.99
Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Jim Lee and Scott Williams

Story/Premise
The Man of Tomorrow and the Superman of yesterday go at it—no holds barred! Supes goes full throttle after his would-be ally, Wraith, in a seismic battle ranging from deep space to the ocean’s floor and ultimately the core of the earth! Meanwhile, Lois Lane holds the key to defeating Ascension, but she needs to reach the Fortress of Solitude to ensure its safekeeping—not to mention hers! And she’s being pursued by a heavily armed force, and it isn’t Ascension!

Opinion
Here we are.  I have reached a new crossroads in my life where I don't know what to think anymore.  A Superman title is the one book I am most excited for in a week.  This is unprecedented.  I need a minute. . .

. . . Just a sec. . .

. . .OK! I have come to terms with it and we are moving forward.  This book looks to be full of the fight that has been teased since the start of the book.  With such a masterful creative team sandwiched around this hero, I can safely say that this is gonna be good.

The CW has released the first official image of Grant Gustin in full costume as The Flash.

Honestly! I think it looks great. In fact it looks badass, but there is a downside. Click on the jump to see some more photos that help elaborate on my thoughts. With all the Photoshop this suit looks fantastic, but a problem I see with it is the heavy influence from Ben Affleck's Dare Devil suit. Is that bad? I'm not sure, but I am split right down the middle. I guess we will have to wait for the show to be aired!

What a fantastic last week was for comics! Forever Evil 6 sold like hotcakes, the Batman/Superman annual impressed, and on the Marvel side of things I absolutely loved the premiere of VOL. 5 of Moon Knight and Loki proved it was no one hit wonder.  How can things get any better for us DC Fanboys? Oh yeah, it's a Batman week.

#3

Title: Superman/Wonder Woman #6
Price: $3.99
Writer: Charles Soule
Artist: Batt and Tony S. Daniel

Story/Premise
When the Phantom Zone is breached by Zod, Superman and Wonder Woman are forced to do the unthinkable to stop the tyrant from global destruction. But can they do what must be done – and will the world forgive them?

Opinion
I was a huge fan of what Man of Steel had going for it and Superman II was arguably the best movie of Big Blue's up until then. Common factor? These Kryptonian bastards. I love a good story of opposites matched evenly or slightly advantaged on one end, and these four have my curiosity and my attention.  How awesome will this brawl be? Who will make out afterwards?  Will there be hair pulling?!  TOO MUCH SUSPENSE!

#2

Title: Batman #29
Price: $4.99
Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Greg Capullo and Danny Miki

Story/Premise
The “DARK CITY” chapter of “ZERO YEAR” reaches its conclusion in this amazing, extra-sized issue! Now, the next chapter of Zero Year is almost upon us, and we’ve saved the best for last! What corners of Batman’s past will be revealed? And how will they impact his very near future? Find out here!

Opinion
Thought it would be number one? PSYCHED YOU OUT, YOU JIVE MOTHA'S! But in all seriousness, the Zero Year run has had so many loving homages to the greatest Batman stories ever told, and though we are ending part two of three of it's three arcs, I can tell we have yet to see the full scale of the greatness promised us by the buildup.  If I can still get all weak in the knees from the anticipation of books, I know I am into the right books.

#1

Title: Batman L'il Gotham #12
Price: $2.99
Writer: Dustin Nguyen
Artist: Dustin Nguyen

Story/Premise
Damian’s fowlest friend Jerry has disappeared, but the people of Gotham City are not helping in his search for a missing turkey. This November, the Condiment King is making a Sandwich Day run! Then we close out the year with a bang before taking a long winter’s nap.

Opinion
Yeah, it was a digital first comic and you could have read this waaaaaaay long ago, but for the same reason Injustice holds my heart so, there is something just magical about this book and it's level of charm.  This is the final issue, print or digital, being released before it gets the trade paperback treatment and eventually fades away to an awesome memory and section of my bins I don't touch.  If you haven't read this all ages Batman book, you really should.  It is as light hearted as it is hilarious. If I am tired after a long day at the store I know that this book will pep me up and give me some great laughs,  and since it is ending, I salute it's run.  Dustin, you rock man.

The Upsetters: Super Ape

For The Fan Presents:

The Upsetters “Super Ape” (1976) Review

Artist: The Upsetters

Album: “Super Ape”

Release: 1976

Genre: Dub/Reggae

When you talk about reggae with most people, they just know one name, and that’s Bob Marley. Yes, his contributions are grand, and yes, he’s worth noting, but there’s more to the style than just the one man. For instance, today we are going to take you back to the hot summer of 1976. August 1976 to be exact, when a group of studio musicians got together to form a dub reggae record known as “Super Ape”. The cool cover art aside, the album has been touted as one of the best dub albums of all time, and even included in one of those nifty books that chronicles the best albums you should hear before you kick the bucket.

Genre: Hip Hop/Rap

A lot of the best music isn’t heard, or even seen. If you read independent hip hop media, however, you may hear about some of the better options. However, while mainstream media talks about only the artists that are signed to big labels or friends and family of Dr. Dre, Eminem, or any number of established stars from the past, there are some that are just working hard to come together and create rhymes that are just eclectic to say the least.

Universal Pictures are bringing in two rather well known actors into the reboot of “Jurassic World.”

According to Deadline, Vincent D’Onofrio and Irrfan Khan will playing our villains. It is still held behind closed doors as to who they will play exactly, but this alone gives promise.

Both Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt are already attached to the film.

D’Onofrio recently wrapped “The Judge” with Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. He will be seen in “Mall,” “Run All Night” and “Pele.”

Khan, a well-known Indian actor, is best known for his roles in “Life of Pi,” “Slumdog Millionaire,” and “The Amazing Spider-Man” in American cinemas.

The reboot is to be released June 12, 2015.
