New Gaming Writer!/Dark Souls 2!

For the Fan Presents:

Dark Souls 2 - Coming March 14th to Xbox 360 and PS3.

Publisher: Namco Bandai Games

Hello there! My name is Jimmy, and I am the new writer on this amazing blog, I'm looking forward to improve the experience for everybody visiting this website, as improving my writing skills and having a great time! :) Now, lets dive into Dark Souls 2, Probably what will be one of the best RPG's we have seen in a while.

Its really difficult to describe Dark souls. If i were to put it in my own words, I would say the game is about adventure, and most of all DEATH. The promotional line for Dark Souls 1 is actually "Prepare to die". Dark souls is one of the most challenging RPG's, or even one of the most challenging games I have ever played. The first time i picked it up, I couldn't even get past the Tutorial Boss until dying a dozen times. (You can't even pause the game!) Not to mention, the lore is so in depth that people today are still finding out new things about it, 3 years later! Dark Souls is definitely not a game "Casual Gamers" would enjoy though, just because of the sheer difficulty. It's more for the hardcore ones out there looking for the adventure of a lifetime, an adventure of suffering, trial and error, and victory.

We're not talking about Dark Souls 1 today however, Dark Souls 2 was announced a few months ago, The whole Souls community and I are itching like crazy to get our hands on an insanely difficult new adventure!

The new promotional line for Dark Souls 2 : Go Beyond Death :

If you've seen trailers for any other video-games, You usually see the hero killing all the bad guys and looking epic. In the dark souls announcement trailer pasted above, It's half true. We do see him killing some masked bandits, but what you have to think about is, the hero actually DIES twice in the trailer. That's some unique marketing right there.

Dark souls 2 already has  hundreds of game-play videos on YouTube already, (due to the beta that came out in November, but was insanely hard to get a spot in.) but I like to go into most games with a surprise, so I won't be watching any of those, and i don't think you should either.

If you want to get a sense of the Souls Story, and haven't already, pick up Dark Souls and give it a try before the 2nd one comes out. It truly is a one of a kind experience, one which will probably end in you rage-quitting and breaking your controller. (Hopefully not)

  1. Early Dark Souls II reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, suggesting that the latest instalment of challenging and atmospheric RPG series is a worthy investment of your valuable March time.

If you've picked up the game, how are you finding it? What's your best anecdote so far? I ended up having to club one boss to death with my shield because my sword broke during the fight, which was both terrifying and exhausting.
