Another Horror Remake: Chilling Trailer For The Town That Dreaded Sundown

I, like most of you, am tired of the lack of originality that seems to come with the horror genre. We constantly are given unnecessary remakes and over saturated subgenres (Found-footage, paranormal, etc.) There have been several films that have tried to break free from this cycle of lackluster films, but for the most part they fall flat on their face.

Here we are again with a remake that may change our ideas of what a remake is. Check out the trailer for the upcoming film The Town That Dreaded Sundown.

The film takes place 65 years after the Phantom Killer terrorized the town of Texarkana. Now the "Moonlight Murders" begin again. Is it the same unidentified killer who was never caught, or is it a copycat? Can a high-school girl with dark secrets of her own solve the mystery?

Blumhouse Productions has teamed with Emmy winner Alfonso Gomez-Rejon to direct the film and to add a bit more excitement they added American Horror Story creator Robert Murphy as producer. A team that, I believe can create a solid horror flick.

The Town The Dreaded Sundown is slated to be released on October 16th.
