Review of the Book

In the third installment of the four part Deadpool/Shield story we see a gory, hilarious, angry Deadpool simply taking out his anger on anyone that gets in his way. This book really does feel like the middle of a story that you're just trying to get through to get to the end. It had it's moments in which it was great and everything I wanted out of a Deadpool book but there is one thing that I am so irritated/over when it comes to this book and that is the intervention of Agent Preston. It was a really funny gag for about the first 15 issues and then, to me at least, is now starting to feel forced and dragged out way past where it should have gone. Luckily though it does seem like she is going to be getting her own body in the next issue, or the issue after it at the latest. One thing that was great about this book were Gorman's henchmen. They were the most idiotic, and funniest part of this entire book. I can see where people would complain about them saying it was a very "re-occurring" joke that happened numerous times throughout this issue, but it worked. It really worked and had me laughing every time one of the henchmen would get sidetracked with something completely un-related to what is happening around them. The art by Mike Hawthorne was good as always, and I can't really complain about it at all. I'm excited to see what is going to happen in the final issue of this story arc, and am interested to see what happens with Crossbones.
