Nina Kotova Plays Profoundly Beautiful Cello Music on Her Latest Release of J.S. Bach Suites

For The Fan Presents:

Nina Kotova "J.S. Bach The Cello Suites" (2014) Review

When it comes to classical music, you most likely know the big names from the past. But did you know that there are a lot of contemporary players, soloists, conductors and more that are creating beautiful music? That’s what you get when you listen to Nina Kotova’s latest record of J.S. Bach Suites for Cello. I was completely stunned with this release as I didn’t expect it to be as transformative as it is. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best release I’ve heard all year, and that trumps nearly every single record I’ve reviewed to this day.

Nina Kotova is an incredible musician, and started at a young age. Her work with major symphonies is one of greatness. You’ll find that she is a powerhouse of musical skill and precision. It’s with this release that you get a huge push forward in regards to the world of Bach with a focus on her playing style. She takes the old and makes it brand new, compelling you to hear the greatness that is established in her timing and notes. It’s easy to compare this title to Yo-Yo Ma’s previously released suite of Bach, but it’s not the same. This is above that one, it takes that and turns it over, because of the power of the recording.

The artist’s signature style is throughout the notes here and you feel very good throughout the tracks. Any fan of music will be floored by the performance on this recording. There’s something beautiful here, and it’s really an astonishing work. If you haven’t listened to classical music in a while, you absolutely need to listen to Nina Kotova’s release of J.S. Bach Suites for Cello. It’s impressive, it’s 2 hours of melody, and style that is transformative on many levels.

You can learn more about this record via the official Nina Kotova website here, and pick up her record from all major retailers, and online. I can truly say that this is compelling, integral, and astounding music. You owe it to yourself to pay close attention to this one.

Pros: Incredible music, style, and precision playing
