A Simpsons-Futurama Crossover Is Coming

Not that long ago it was announced that we would see The Simpsons and all of Springfield coupled up in an episode of Family Guy.

That isn't where the fun ends! The Simpsons will now host a crossover of their own. Hit the jump for more.

The Simpsons will now host their own crossover with none other than Futurama! Simpsons executive producer Al Jean announced at the show’s Comic-Con panel that the two will join forces for an episode that airs November 9, 2014.

The premise of the episode will unspool a complex, Terminator-esque story that involves Bart blowing his nose on a sandwich that he places in a time capsule. When that mixes with Milhouse’s rabbit’s foot and some radioactive ooze, it creates a global catastrophe in the future, prompting Bender to travel back in time to kill Bart and prevent this mega-mess.

Matt Groening creator of both The Simpsons and Futurama told Entertainment Weekly, “That was a really tough one to negotiate, because I had to talk to myself. "Simpsorama” is taglined in the opening credits as “a show out of ideas teams up with a show out of episodes.”

Executive producer Al Jean added, “They were going off the air, so I thought people would really love it if we had one more chance to see those characters. We’re always looking for things that are compatible with us, and I thought, ‘Well, what’s more compatible?’ We do a joke, actually, about how similar Bender and Homer look. Like, they just erased Homer’s hair.”

This is all just too exciting. After rewatching and finishing the entire Futurama series I have felt pretty empty lately. Unlike Bender's compartment, I had nothing. Being able to see the Planet Express crew one more time adds sweet joy to my heart!

All these words and babble aren't all I have for you! Here's an awesome first image from the episode.

Be sure to check out the episode November 9th! You can't miss it.
