Tetris Will Now Be A Blockbuster Hit (Pun Definitely Intended)

Strap on your seatbelts, put on your helmets and prepare for some mind blowing news.

It has just been reported by Wall Street Journal that a film based on the classic block stacking game Tetris, will be heading to the big screen but not in the way you would think.

Threshold Entertainment has teamed up with the Tetris company to develop a live-action film based on the game. Which is said to be of EPIC proportions.

Thresholds CEO Larry Kasanoff tells Speakeasy, “It’s a very big, epic sci-fi movie." But my question is how?!?   “This isn’t a movie with a bunch of lines running around the page. We’re not giving feet to the geometric shapes... What you see in Tetris is the teeny tip of an iceberg that has intergalactic significance." He adds.

No information of what the plot will entail has been given, but Kasanoff is best known for the live-action video game adaptations, Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Which weren't all that great, but are admittedly still loads of fun.

Whatever this film brings to the screen I am more than sure that it will be a grand and epic time.

To prepare for this film, I suggest you head home and start binge playing the hell out this game. It's the right thing to do. I'm on level 34... Wait 1.

And if it's anything like this Pac-Man film by Machnima it could be pretty badass. Good? Now that's something completely different, but who knows!
