Story Premise/Summary

Review of the Book

Since issue #1 of The Star Wars I have been saying that this is something I really would have liked to see put to film and would really like to see done on a large scale. In order to read this series I believe that you really have to go in with an open mind and you can't really compare the book to the original trilogy because it's not the same Star Wars that we all know and love. It's something brand new and great! Issue #4 of The Star Wars has probably been my favorite issue in this miniseries yet. It's action packed and a lot of fun! We also got to see the cantina scene! I personally really like this writing versus what George Lucas actually settled on, but I don't know how much of it can be attributed to Rinzler mostly because it's an adaptation, but I really think that the writing for this series is very strong. The art in this book is definitely something I love the most out of this book. It's really some of the best art in comics today. Really realistic, and really believable. Props to Mayhew for that. It's really hard to find issues in this book because it is a new series and hasn't been done before so I can't say "oh this character would never act that way." I can compare it to the original trilogy, but it's not meant to be compared to it. It's meant to be it's own entity.

Pros, Cons, & Rating

PROS: Beautiful art, good writing, good action sequences
CONS: Still a setup for a bigger plan, so it will be interesting to see how much of a role the newly introduced characters play in the upcoming issues

RATING: 9/10
