As Sam Alexander continues to hunt down clues of the Nova Corps demise, he finds an all new threat of his own making. But the arrival of former Mjolnir-wielder Beta Ray Bill means Nova's days may be numbered.

Review of the Book

Nova is one of those comic books that upon first hearing about you might not be too interested in. If this is the case and you're not reading Nova, you've got some issues! The current run of Nova that's written by Gerry Duggan has been absolutely great. This is one of the few titles that I wish came out twice a month. With that being said, issue #013 has been stoked for this next arc with Beta Ray Bill. I was expecting a bit more space action in this book, and was hoping to see more of those crazy aliens that we saw in issue #012, but I am just a pleased with what we got in this issue. I would say that over 75% of this issue was a giant fight between Nova, and Beta Ray Bill. It was a fun issue that didn't necessarily move the story forward, but it added a new layer to the current arc that Duggan has going on. The only complaint I really have about this issue is that it doesn't advance the story in anyway and I would have liked to see some space action. What I mean by it didn't advance the story is that nothing moved ahead and nothing moved back. It was the introduction of Beta Ray Bill to Nova and it was really just explaining what is going to happen, which is not a bad thing. The art in this issue was good as it usually has been on this book. Paco Medina does an excellent job of giving the book the art it needs to convey the feeling of Sam's world. Another note about the art in this issue is that to me, Beta Ray Bill was absolutely terrifying to look at. I'm not sure if this was intended but I loved that he was kind of creepy to look at. Nova continue's to be one of Marvel's best monthly books out right now and Gerry Duggan continues to show us why he is one of the best and underrated writer's that Marvel has at their disposal.

WHY TO BUY & RATING:

WHY TO BUY!
It's basically one giant bad ass fight scene between Nova and Beta Ray Bill which is incredibly entertaining and fun to watch/read. The writing is great as it usually has been for Nova, and the art is fun to look at as well. It's just an overall fun, and entertaining book

RATING: 9/10(A)
